Part 1.

So-called reality shows are also known as "1 unscripted entertainment.

Often, the hosts of these programs are ordinary individuals. A common

format sees the host interviewing ordinary people, who later receive gifts

for their troubles. Reality shows have become ingrained in popular

culture because of their "relatability.

 

It's important to remember, however, that reality television programs

present a distorted form of reality. The events that take place in reality

6 programs are overhyped to attract viewership. The offshoot of this is

increased revenue from advertising. The people who appear in reality

placed in extraordinary situations in order to sensationalize

Despite their sensationalistic nature, or perhaps because of it, reality

programs have become immensely popular. However, many reality

2 shows wind up being replaced with shows that build moral character.

So after all is said and done, reality shows are popular for the revenue they

generate, more than for the moral message they portray.

 

Reality programs are often derided for being mindless entertainment.

However, when it comes to television, even bad TV can 'have wide

-ranging influence. Some reality programs can 'have a detrimental effect

on society. In fact, because of their negative impacts, some people feel

reality programs should be censored.
